A Colorful Spring Wedding at Nicollet Island Pavilion in Minneapolis | Claire and Marco

Weddings

Some wedding days just make Minneapolis look really, really good.

The day started at the historic Nicollet Island Inn, where everyone got ready before heading across the street for a first look and portraits around the island. With the Mississippi River, old brick buildings and downtown Minneapolis just across the water, we didn’t have to go far to find a little bit of everything.

The sun showed up in full force for an outdoor ceremony at Nicollet Island Pavilion, followed by the kind of evening that didn’t need much overthinking: good drinks, a packed dance floor and everyone they love in one room.

Nicollet Island is one of my favorite little pockets of Minneapolis to photograph. It somehow feels tucked away from the city while still being right in the middle of it. Add in the historic architecture, riverfront and all that spring green, and there really isn’t a bad direction to point a camera.

Photographed as a second photographer for Kelly Russo Photo.
