These two call Minneapolis home but crossed the river to celebrate at The Lowlands in St. Paul with a group of people who came ready to have a good time. The whole day felt easy. Nobody was taking themselves too seriously, everyone was happy to be there, and there was a lot more laughing than fussing over whether everything was going exactly according to plan.
We snuck outside for portraits with the St. Paul skyline in the background, which is always one of my favorite parts about photographing over here. A little city, good light and the river nearby is a pretty hard combination to beat.
I photographed the day on both digital and film, bouncing between the bigger moments and everything happening around them. Friends hanging out, drinks in hand, people catching up, laughing, dancing and generally just enjoying being in the same place together.
Nothing overly complicated. Nothing too serious. Just two people getting married and a whole bunch of people who were genuinely excited to celebrate them.
